Introduction

Dorottya House, built in 1910-11 in Art Nouveau style, is a jewel in the centre of Kaposvár. Its glorious but often rugged history left a mark on its walls, leaving a complete reconstruction unavoidable. The present owner of the hotel has aimed for a renovation which preserves the original stylistic elements, at the same time fulfils the requirements of our age, creating a symbiosis between past and present.

Reconstruction started with the creation of a closed parking lot, which was followed by the completion of the legendary Mirror Hall which hosts today, as back in the old days, the Dorottya Ball, the highpoint of every carnival season. There are two additional, smaller halls for company or private gatherings. We offer complete technical background and our qualified staff is up to every challenge.

The hotel fills the building’s first and third floors. There are excitingly shaped rooms and apartments in the attic, while more spacious and more refined superior rooms and suites can be found on the first floor. Accessibility was one of the key aspects in the renovation process.

With its four-star quality, the hotel is the town’s most prestigious place of accommodation. To meet our guests’ expectations, there are a number of special features in the rooms. Every room has an LCD television set, a minibar, a safe and Internet access. Standard rooms on the third floor feature exceptional arrangements and a modern style, while our superior rooms on the first floor and the suites with living-room corners offer more space and excellent quality to our guests.

On the ground-floor, a Lobby bar and a beauty parlour await those looking for relaxation. The hotel’s restaurant will be finished in the third stage of the renovation works, expected to be completed in 2012.
